Our plans at the Land west of Holland Road would provide a range of benefits to be enjoyed by both new and existing residents of Hurst Green.
Key Benefits
Much-needed new homes – Our plans would provide up to 150 new homes including 50% new affordable homes to help address the housing crisis in Mid Sussex.
Countryside open space – Over 50% of the site, which is over 4 hectares, will be public open space. This will include newly accessible countryside for the whole community
Accessibility – The site has good access to Holland Road and is within easy walking distance of shops, schools and the station.
Connectivity – While retaining and enhancing existing rights of way on the site, we will improve footpath and cycling connections around Hurst Green.
Community Hub – A new community facility offering services and activities to support and connect local residents.
Spaces for learning and play – Outdoor space for informal play will be open to the whole community
Car club and electric vehicle charging – A car club will be provided on site, alongside charging points for electric vehicles, both encouraging more environmentally friendly transport options
Community orchards and allotments – Outdoor activities promote healthy living and support people’s mental health. Both community orchards and new allotments will provide opportunities for local people to connect with nature.
Additional green infrastructure – Additional green infrastructure as suggested by local people to encourage more local people to make use of the new open spaces.
